3. Build time into your travel schedule for Art Memories with FAMILY! Last week my sister and I attended a reunion with all the kids we grew up with at Rift Valley Academy in Kenya, East Africa. We always arrive one day early and stay about 3-4 days after an event.
That keeps us fresh and gives us time to build shared memories together in a new city.

At the reunion (Marie in the middle) is wearing the RVA uniform.
Here I am in my RVA uniform. |

4. Try something NEW: I decided to take Sharon on an ARTnic... which means you pack some yummy food and then draw while you are on the road. We went to 7 Springs Park in Manitou Springs, Colorado. This place has 7 springs with carbonated mineral water and you can drink all you want for free.

We had a sumptuous picnic and then I gave Sharon an art lesson. Click here for DVD workshop: Discover Watercolor Pencils Super simple techniques for sketching on the go. |

5. Carry compact supplies: Sharon wants to learn how to draw and paint flowers so I used my compact watercolors to show her how to paint a flower.

Later when we made a trip to WalMart, I saw some stickers that perfectly matched my sketch so I added those to the sketch page to jazz it up.
|
I drew a flower with graphite pencils too. |

Like many of your Sharon had performance anxiety. She needed feedback and when I told her what she was doing right and how to fix the things that were wrong, her confidence grew.
It was hard to get her started 'cause she was intimidated. But when she experienced success, it was hard to pull her away from the art. She loved it.
This reminded me ...many of you have been pleading for feedback so I did some more research to try to find a way to help you from a distance.
FINALLY I found a GREAT way to give feedback and demos even to those who live far away. |
Look at this amazing flower that Sharon drew! She's an Impressionist so her drawing style is looser than mine.
Don't try to be a clone... let your own style show. |
I plan to launch my new club in about 3 weeks... stay tuned.
Here's today's eSHOW.
In honor of the reunion with my friends
from Africa, I'm showing you a very cool way to help others with
your art. This guy paints portraits of orphans in Uganda on
the cover of books that are being tossed aside.
